Due to the regulatory nature of recycling, and the variety of people who may be packaging a cell for its next steps, the level of instruction needed can vary greatly. I created an instruction template that could scale from simple consumer recycling to complex electric vehicle battery removal and preparation for shipping. Then, I photographed batteries as they moved through the warehouse, wrote copy in compliance with government regulation, and assembled instructions for eighteen possible configurations.
